THINGS TO DO

Udaipur, often referred to as the "City of Lakes," is renowned for its stunning landscapes, regal architecture, and rich history. Here are some must-see attractions that you should consider exploring during your stay:

City Palace:

Perched on the banks of Lake Pichola, the City Palace is a magnificent complex of palaces, courtyards, and gardens that offers a glimpse into the opulent lifestyle of the Rajput rulers. The palace's intricate architecture, featuring a blend of Rajasthani and Mughal styles, is adorned with beautiful balconies, towers, and cupolas. Don't miss the City Palace Museum, which houses an impressive collection of artifacts, including royal costumes, paintings, and armory.

Lake Pichola:

This picturesque lake is the heart of Udaipur, surrounded by palaces, temples, and ghats. A boat ride on Lake Pichola, especially at sunset, is a must-do experience. The serene waters reflect the golden hues of the setting sun, creating a magical atmosphere. From the boat, you can enjoy views of the City Palace, the Jag Mandir, and the Jag Niwas (now known as the Taj Lake Palace).

Jag Mandir:

Also known as the "Lake Garden Palace," Jag Mandir is an exquisite palace situated on an island in Lake Pichola. It is said to have inspired the design of the Taj Mahal. The palace, with its stunning marble architecture, lush gardens, and intricate carvings, offers a peaceful retreat from the bustling city. It's a perfect spot to relax and enjoy the panoramic views of the lake and the surrounding city.

Saheliyon Ki Bari:

Literally translated as the "Garden of the Maidens," Saheliyon Ki Bari is a beautiful garden built by Maharana Sangram Singh for the royal ladies. The garden is a tranquil oasis filled with fountains, lotus pools, marble pavilions, and lush greenery. The elegant design and serene ambiance make it a perfect place to unwind and enjoy the natural beauty.

Fateh Sagar Lake:

Another of Udaipur’s stunning lakes, Fateh Sagar Lake is an artificial lake surrounded by the Aravalli hills. You can take a leisurely boat ride to Nehru Park, a charming garden island in the middle of the lake. The lake is also home to the Udaipur Solar Observatory, one of the best solar observing sites in Asia.

Bagore Ki Haveli:

Located on the waterfront of Lake Pichola, Bagore Ki Haveli is an 18th-century haveli (mansion) that has been beautifully restored. The haveli now serves as a museum showcasing the royal heritage of Mewar, with exhibits on traditional costumes, musical instruments, and artifacts. In the evening, the haveli hosts a captivating cultural performance, including folk dances and puppet shows, offering an immersive experience of Rajasthani culture.

Jagdish Temple:

A visit to Udaipur wouldn’t be complete without exploring the Jagdish Temple, an intricately carved Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu. Built in 1651, the temple’s architecture is a fine example of Indo-Aryan style, with detailed carvings and statues. The temple is an active place of worship, and visitors can witness the rituals and prayers that take place daily.

Monsoon Palace (Sajjangarh Palace):

Situated atop a hill overlooking the Fateh Sagar Lake, the Monsoon Palace offers panoramic views of Udaipur and its surroundings. Originally built as a royal residence to watch the monsoon clouds, the palace is now a popular sunset point, providing breathtaking views of the city bathed in the golden light of dusk.
